Oswald is kind and patient, and cares a lot about others -- even if not knowing them for long. This can be seen in the finale, in which he checks on Dylan with Daisy to make sure he's okay. Oswald takes things seriously, but doesn't mind joking from time to time.

Arrival in the Liminal World
Oswald arrived in the liminal world while hunting in the forest. The Door mysteriously appeared while he was in the middle of hunting. Being one of the later victims, he knew about The Door's intentions, and attempted to shoot at it. Unfortunately, the bullets did nothing, and Oswald was dragged in.
Oswald was the sixth victim.
